★ Recommended monsties: Pukei Pukei, Anjanath, Monoblos, Nargacuga, Rathian, Tigrex. This is the best fire weapon you have access to during the entirety of Alcala.
You can upgrade it once you have Rathian materials. You need at least 2 to craft any of the Anjanath weapons, specifically the Anjanath greatsword. (Not going into details, look it up on YouTube or somethin.) Doing so will let you eventually make the Anjanath weapons once you've gotten to a point in the actual game where the quest board gives you the quest to fight a Basarios named "The Immovable Boulder", which drops Dragonite Ore. Farm for Anjanath materials by doing the process that makes it show up. The first thing you can do to prepare yourself for this fight is actually something you can do in the trial version of MHS2. (Base Tigrex genes are terrible.)ĭon't bother trying to get it's armor or weapons, you don't get that option until you actually reach Lamure.
In Alcala Highlands and the Inner Rocky Hills there are Royal Tigrex you can fight in an attempts to make them retreat and get a Tigrex for yourself, or just farm them for (L) genes.
